February to May covers the growing stage of the second (dry season) rice in Cambodia. The fraction of cropped arable land was comprabale to the average of the previous five years.
Compared to average, the CropWatch agroclimatic indicators show markedly below average rainfall(-67%) and a slight increase in RADPAR (+8%) . Unfavorable conditions caused the NDVI to be much below the last five years'average from February, with a biomass potential decrease of -60%). Moreover, vegetation condition indices (VCIx) are low (<0.5) around Tonle Sap Lake. The condition of the crops in the country is poor.
