The harvesting period of summer and autumnrice has been completed, while the 10th month rice was still growing atmid-October. The crop condition from July to October was slightlylower than the recent five-years average. For the period underconsideration, most CropWatch agroclimatic and agronomic indicators showaverage conditions or a slight drop below the average: RADPAR (0%), TEMP(+0.1°C), BIOMSS (-3%), and RAIN -10%).

Spatial NDVI profiles show that the cropcondition was mostly above average in the Red River delta (including Lang Sonand Cao Bang). Other areas recorded about average NDVI, especially in themiddle mountain area and the south. NDVI profiles show that crop condition wasabove average in 21.7% of the major rice plantation area, mainly the MekongRiver delta from September to October, with VCIx ranging between 0.8 and1. Based on CropWatch indicators, the crop situation in Vietnam is consideredto be satisfactory and close to average.
