Crop condition was generally average in southern China during the entire period. The precipitation (RAIN) increased by 12% above average, with the following values at provincial level: Fujian +55%, Guangxi +36% and Guangdong +19%. Temperature (TEMP) dropped by 0.3°C, while radiation (RADPAR) increased by 2%. As a result, potential accumulated biomass increased by 12% on the whole, compared to the five-year average.

The crop condition development graph based on NDVI shows crop condition in the region was below average in April but that it recovered in May. Although condition dropped again to below average in June, it returned to average in July on average. Nearly all arable land was actually cropped over the region, with the CALF decreasing by only 1 percentage point.

The affected area makes up about 12.9% (7.0% + 5.9%) of arable land in the region.
