The analysis of Egypt was based NDVI of the areas along the Nile river, its delta and oasis areas. Egypt experience 2 seasons of a short rainy season (June - September) and the longer main irrigated season (November - April). The spatial NDVI pattern showed that positive NDVI profiles constitutes 11.5% while negative NDVI profiles constitutes 88.5%. The maximum VCI during the seasons was predominantly in the range of 0.8 to 1.0 with scanty areas covered by 0.5 - 0.8 range.
