The crops in the Philippines generally showed unfavorable condition between August and October according to the NDVI profiles. Harvesting of the main season paddy crop is currently underway. Nationwide, rainfall (RAIN) was 11% above average, accompanied by increased temperature (0.8°C) and about average radiation (RADPAR, -1%). The biomass accumulation potential (BIOMSS) shows a slight increase of 2%, while the cropping intensity decreased by 4 percentage points compared with the average. Typhoon Sarika flooded some crops in Luzon during mid-October, but the impact on crops is limited according to the NDVI clustered map, which shows that the VCIx values for most areas are above average. As the main crops have entered into the harvest period, the extreme weather in the monitoring period will not have much impact on the yield.
