During the monitoring period from July to October 2024, Southern China experienced the growth and harvest stages of late rice. According to CropWatch agroclimatic indicators, RAIN was 1292 mm, 4% above the 15YA. The TEMP averaged 23.5°C (+0.8°C compared to the 15YA), while RADPAR was higher  by +1%. These conditions resulted in a BIOMSS that was 2% above average.

The CALF reached 98%, showing no change from the 5YA. The cropping intensity increased by 10% compared to the 5YA, reaching 158%. The VCIx for the region was 0.94, with most areas showing values between 0.8 and 1.0, indicating favorable crop growth conditions. The CPI was 1.00, suggesting crop production at average levels.

Based on NDVI departure clustering analysis, most areas in Southern China maintained crop conditions close to the 5YA throughout the monitoring period. However, some parts of western Guangxi and southern Yunnan showed below-average values in early August, which gradually improved by late September. The biomass departure map indicated that most areas experienced variations within ±10% of average levels.

Overall, crop conditions in Southern China were close to average, supported by normal rainfall and favorable temperatures. The increased cropping intensity and stable CALF suggest efficient land utilization during this period.
