This section presents CropWatch results for each of thirty key countries (China is addressed in Chapter 4). The maps refer to crop growing areas only and include (a) Crop condition development graph based on NDVI average over crop areas, comparing the January-April 2015 period to the previous season and the five-year average (5YA) and maximum. (b) Maximum VCI(over arable land mask) for January 1 – April 30 2015 by pixel; (c) Spatial NDVI patterns up to April 2015 according to local cropping patterns and compared tothe 5YA; and (d) NDVI profiles associated with the spatial pattern under (c).
