Spring maize was at flowering to ripening stage.Overall, crop condition was average.

Single-season rice was at jointing to heading period while late rice was at seedling period. Single-season rice situation was overall favorable. Crop condition was above average in the central and northern parts of Lower Yangtze region and Southwest China but below average in western Northeast China due to high temperature and water deficit. Low radiation in Southern China adversely affected the seedling and coming growth of late rice.

Spring Maize was at silking stage whereas summer maize was at seven-leaf to jointing stage. Altogether, spring maize condition was average. Affected by drought, below-average crop condition occurred in western Northeast China. In contrast, spring and summer maize situation in the central and northern part of Lower Yangtze region and Southwest China were above average due to favorable agro-climatic condition.Because of rainy weather and concurrently low radiation, crops condition were below average in southern Southwest China.

Soybean was at branching to flowering stage.Crop condition was average.

Surrounding regions

Crops condition were overall below average in the areas adjacent to China. Because of drought, unfavorable crops situation appeared in Eastern Central Asia, northern Mainland Southeast Asia and northeast India. Fortunately, crops condition were above or close to average in other regions near China.
