Crop conditions were generally favourable compared to the previous five years average in mid-March. However, diverse behaviours were observed in different major producing provinces, with above average conditions concentrated in Sichuan, Gansu, Shanxi, and north Jiangsu. Crops at southern Hebei, central to south Anhui, Southern Jiangsu as well as central Shaanxi appeared below average conditions.
