By June 25th, the harvest of winter wheat and sowing of maize already concluded in NorthChina. Harvest of early rice and sowing of second rice is ongoing in lower Yangtze Basin. The condition of spring-planted crops in Northeast China is below that of 2018 during the same period due to below average rainfall since sowing. Crops in Xinjiang and Loess Region show favourable conditions thanks to enough rainfall and normal temperature. Several early rice-growing provinces, including Guangdong, Guangxi, and Jiangxi, suffered from continuously rainy and cloudy weather which hampered the flowering and grain-filling of early rice. Crops are at an early stage in Sichuan and Chongqing. CropWatch will keep watch at the crops in the following months.
