During the monitoring period from Nov 13th -26th, 2020, most of the late rice in Jiangnan and South China has been harvested during the period. Winter wheat in most parts of North China was in the three-leaf to tillering stage. Winter wheat in Jianghuai, Jianghan and most parts of southwestern China was in the stage of seedling emergence to three-leaf, and partially entered the tillering stage. Late rice in South China was already at a mature stage. From mid-October to early November, there was almost no precipitation in North China, and the temperature was higher than 0-1 ℃, soil moisture content of wheat field decreased significantly. Drought phenomena were more obvious in parts of Huanghuai area, resulting in lower than average growth conditions, mainly in central and northern Henan, central and southern Hebei, and central and western Shandong. Considering that the region mainly relies on irrigation, low rainfall limits the growth of winter crops. There was a significant snowfall at the end of mid-November, which improved soil moisture. It was expected that crop growth during the winter period would be generally normal. The farmlands in Jianghuai, Jianghan and Jiangnan had suitable soil moisture, and the meteorological conditions were favorable for the sowing and emergence of winter wheat. Meteorological conditions in most parts of South China were conducive to the ripening and harvesting of late rice. Crop conditions in most parts of the southwest were above average, mainly in the eastern Sichuan Basin, most of Chongqing, most of Yunnan, and central and northern Guizhou.

Overall, the weather in most parts of the country was favorable, which was conducive to planting, maturation and harvesting of crops. The crop growth in winter crops producing areas, including the central and Northern Henan, the south central Hebei and western Shandong, was slightly lower than the average.
