During the monitoring period from Dec 2th -18th, 2020, winter wheat in northwest China, North China and eastern Huanghuai entered the overwintering stage, and winter wheat in Guanzhong and western Huanghuai of Shaanxi was mostly in the tillering stage. Winter wheat in Jianghuai, Jianghan and Southwest China was at treble to tillering stage. In terms of meteorological conditions, the temperature in most of the country's agricultural areas was close to the same period of the year or lower than 1 ~ 4℃. In Jianghuai, Jianghan, Jiangnan, North China, Huanghuai and other places, the sunshine hours were close to the same period of the year or more, most of the agricultural areas had moisture content, and the meteorological conditions were generally conducive to crop growth. In southwest China, it continued to be cloudy and rainy. In the east and south of Sichuan, Chongqing and other places, the number of days of precipitation can reach 6-8. Freezing rain occured in some areas, which was not good for the growth of winter wheat and other crops. In the south of Henan and the north of Anhui, crop growth was obviously higher than average. In the southwest of Shaanxi, Anhui and most of Hubei, the soil was too wet, and the growth of crops was slightly lower than the average level.

On the whole, the crops in winter wheat producing areas in China were growing well. Different regions should take corresponding measures according to the local meteorological conditions and crop growth to ensure the growth of winter wheat.
