During the period from April 7th to 22nd, 2021, most winter wheat in northern China was in jointing to heading stage, only some of it in Northern Xinjiang and central Gansu entered rising stage. The flowering stage was primarily in Jianghuai, Jianghan and Southwest China and partly in Guanzhong. And some winter wheat in Southwest China has entered the milk-ripe stage.

As far as agrometeorology is concerned, the precipitation in Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang and Guangxi was higher than the average level of the same period of the past, while it in some area of northwest and southwest China was close to the average, and in most of other areas in China was lower. At the same time, except that the temperature in South China was close to the average level, the temperature in most area was generally 0.5-1.5 ℃ lower than that in the same period of previous years, and in parts of northwest and southwest China was 1.5-2.0 ℃ lower than the average. In addition, except for North China where the radiation was above-average, the radiation in the most of other area was lower than the average. Although the precipitation and the temperature in most areas in the middle of April were lower than average, the crop condition in most agricultural areas in China was normal, thanks to the above-average precipitation in the first ten days of April and the mature irrigation technology. Moreover, the higher precipitation in Shandong and warm weather in Hebei in early April were conducive to the growth of winter wheat in booting and heading stage, which reversed the previously poor crop condition in some parts of Shandong and promoted a favorable crop growth in Hebei. All in all, the summer grain growth in China was slightly better in the middle April.
