During the period from April 7th to 22th, 2022, most winter wheat in northern China was in jointing to heading stage, only some of it in Northern Xinjiang and central Gansu were still in the rising stage. The flowering stage was primarily in Jianghuai, Jianghan and Southwest China and partly in Guanzhong, And some winter wheat in Southwest China has entered the milk-ripe stage.
In general, the temperature in most agricultural areas north of the Yangtze River is close to the same period of the year or 1-4°C higher, the precipitation is close to the same period of the year or less, the moisture content is suitable for most of the country, and the water and heat conditions are generally favorable for winter wheat to stand up, join, and boot. The lack of precipitation in southern Shanxi, central Shaanxi, and southern Gansu resulted in the lack of soil moisture in some wheat fields and the growth rate was lower than average; the temperature in Jianghuai and Jianghan was higher, and the precipitation was normal to slightly less, but in central Anhui and northern Jiangsu, there has been no effective precipitation after April, soil moisture has been deviated, and some cropland has appeared dry. The eastern part of Southwest China has normal precipitation, which is beneficial to the production of winter wheat. In North China, due to the higher precipitation in mid-April, the growth of crops in most agricultural areas is at average. Some of the flood-stricken areas in autumn 2021 will grow below average due to abandoned cropland.
In April, Agro-Climatic Indicators were favorable and crop accelerated growth. Wheat growing season has returned to normal level. All in all, the growth of summer grains in the country is generally normal and close to the average level.
