This monitoring period covers the growing and harvesting stages of rainy season maize and rice in Indonesia. Crop condition was average from January to April, resulting from mostly average environmental conditions: RAIN, +7%; RADPAR, +2%; and TEMP, +0.7°C.In April, heavy rain caused flooding in South Sulawesi and West Java, which accounts for the below average crop condition in this region. The national NDVI profile was also below average until the end of March. Starting in April, NDVI values are between normal and above-normal. The biomass accumulation shows aslight 2% decrease compared to the average of the recent five years. CropWatch estimates that the production of rice and other crops in Indonesia will be average.
